SOMETHING I LOOK AT-146 THE STORY IS NOT OVER Your eyes speak. The untold story of your life A life never lived  A life crucified upon a cross of gold  Tales of agony and apathy  Sorrow and alienation  After a long battle, tired you  Defeated and resigned to fate Your fragile body and mind tell it all You are fully exhausted  With  very little life in you No inertia, no motivation  To go-ahead with life Its ebb and flow tide.. Have you ever looked at you Or you only see you In the mirror of others? Have you ever lived a life Which is your own Or your entire life is for others For those, you call your own? When you look at their eyes  What do you see? A virtual image of yours  The real you is somewhere else Probably in the dreams of your parents  Look at yourself The little girl playing with pebbles  Looking at the sky, counting stars  Wishing to have the moon in her hand. Your dreams and fancies  Wishes and desires  You have killed long since  To live other's whims and fancies  Ar

Come quickly  If not for you, for me at lest  They are speaking ill of you I can tolerate everything  But anything against you How can I tolerate, Bear and digest? All along You were on that side of the river And I am  this side Never tried to measure the distance  Always saw the sea Felt  it's hidden depth The cool breeze that connected you and me But long since I could neither see the sea Nor fathom it's depth  And feel the cool breeze blowing in between  Come, my son!  A LOOK AT LIFE-64 BY-SMRUTI RANJAN MOHANTY     DEATH A MENTAL STATE When it seems all over  Life sprouts From the ashes of the past once more  Only you need a bit of silence to feel it A bit of science, a bit of art to realise it A pair of eyes to see it,  acknowledge  Its never-ending beauty and grandeur  A pair of ears to listen to the symphony of life  And lose yourself in its music forever  Look around Where is death? It is only life everywhere  Life and its changing colours  Each more bright and beautiful than the other Atoms and molecules bubbling with vitality  Energy in various forms Subtle vibrations Electrons orbiting around the nucleus  Even what you call death  Is life in another form  Death is more a state of mind Than a physical phenomenon  One who has not seen life in death Has never lived his life. It depends on how you define life It is an urge to expand, manifest, unfold, Contract and expand  To keep pace with change and maintain  Its existence under all circumstance

No peace until you realise, you need it more for yourself than anyone else. No peace, till nations realise  peace is the first condition of development  without which life on earth is at stake. Enough nuclear warheads you have, to destroy the world many times. Why do you  need more? Of what use this arms race that keeps each on their toes  and let them live in perpetual terror, in constant fear of each other. Enough fortune, pelf, power and recognition you have Of what use they are  if  one is constantly at war with himself More happy is a contented man than a rich possessive individual, whose thirst and hunger, nothing can satisfy. Contentment is the gateway to heaven and peace opens it for one to enter into the kingdom

Critical appreciation of my poem Something I Look At-43

Image
Here is the critical appreciation of my poem "SOMETHING I LOOK AT-43" by non-other than eminent poet and internationally acclaimed literally critic Prof Cijo Joseph Chennelil.   Thanks and gratitude sir for your brilliant interpretation of the poem Dear Smruti Ranjaniji, Something I Look At-43" is a poem that narrates about a world which is in the whirlpool of tensions, worries and concerns from one end to the next. The poem commences with an optimistic note wherein this world is described as a world of pure joy and happiness, the human beings in this world enjoy life in an overwhelming manner day in and day out. This world is also suffused with many amenities and facilities and we all live in the comfort zones of this world. This world also can be termed as a paradise because of the comfort level, people come across this world. But the rosy picture of this world is countered by a reality check regarding the real status of this world in relation to values, ideologies an

SOMETHING I LOOK AT-48

SOMETHING I LOOK AT-48 BY-SMRUTI RANJAN MOHANTY History tells the consequences of war with  no one  emerging a complete winner, the victor and the vanquished losing the game one way or other. It is the humanity that is the greatest loser and the force inimical to man and  his development the ultimate victor If one is to wage a war, it Is to be against oneself, his negative emotions and instincts, against pride and prejudice, hatred and jealousy, poverty and illiteracy, regionalism and religious fanaticism, parochialism, economic disparity and all those forces that divide and put artificial  barriers between man and man  nation and nation, region and region. The battle is for a better tomorrow, a new world order, more just and egalitarian where people have the opportunity to develop in an atmosphere of freedom and peace to become themselves. To fight the battle, one does not need a gun, but a pair of eyes that sees no disparity, a heart  that beats for humanity, a mind that is committe

Humble thanks and gratitude sir.I am greatly honoured Dear Smruti Ranjaniji, Your poem titled"A Look At Life-41"is a poem that depicts a love which is an interminable and perennial one that crosses the boundary of this life into the life beyond. When two individuals live in a relationship dovetailed to each other,it is a loving relationship of mutual understandi ng and tolerance, they share and care for each other all throughout their lives, they are in each other's company in sorrows and joys, they are inseparable from each other in a whole lot of ways, they are made for each other in every respect, the love they have for each other is everlasting and enduring, but one day this bond is broken through death and one is to depart for heaven and the other is left behind without any care in the world, the desolation and isolation w

Thanks and gratitude sir. I am greatly honoured Dear Smruti Ranjaniji, Your poem titled"A Look At Life-43" is a poem that combines philosophy, theology, science and psychology in equal measure. Life is an interminable circle passing from one state of being to another state of being, it doesn't have an end unless and until it is reunited with the fundamental point of origin. The world came forth from that inexhaustible arena and it would revert back to it as such in the course of time. Here on this earth life is an unending journey, the destination is not clearly marked at in any stretch of the imagination, the things that we come across in this world are transitory and fleeting in nature and nothing is a permanent feature of life. The structures and wonders of the world are subjected to change onc

I make them full and complete. On my love and sacrifice, they stand, on my feet, they walk  the thorny path of life but look at the world through a pair of jaundiced eyes. Without me, they are just aimless ships sailing in the boisterous sea. I am the able navigator who brings them safely ashore,  but they forget it the moment  they come back to their comfort zone. I am the life in them, that carries them forward to their destination. It is the woman behind every man, her unconditional love and motivation that precisely define a man, his success and failure, but never his attitudes and behaviours and the way they look at woman. I have been with you like your shadow living and enduring your moments of joy and despair,  happiness and sorrow, never thinking for a moment i have a life of my o

Thanks and gratitude sir Cijo Joseph Chennelil for reading my poem SOMETHING I LOOK AT-46 and writing a beautiful critical appreciation on it  Smruti Ranjaniji, Your poem titled"Something I Look at-46" is a poem that depicts a world which is in a state of turmoil and chaos. In our inner beings, we are at war with ourselves with respect to which ideology to adopt, we have two options, one is related to a world of values and ideals which can add a moral framework to the society at large and other is a world which is in the grip of use and throw culture and crass commercialisation. The bulk number of people in the world does swim with the currents by embracing this culture of manipulation and radicalisation implemented and carried forward in the name of shortsighted development and wayward progress. In the outside world we are confronted with an existential crisis in which if we want to live an upright life, we are looked through the prism of suspicion. The world is such wh

The past reincarnates. Heart and soul, body and mind, eyes and ears dance in joy. You come with all your splendour like the silver moon from behind the bank of clouds, touch me, touch my body and mind, take me away to the heaven of love, where there is none but you and me in love with each other. How can i forget the day we parted, the day when you were forced to tie knot with someone else, leaving me and our love midway.
