 A LOOK AT LIFE-73 BY-SMRUTI RANJAN MOHANTY       TIME SPARES NONE Forget not! Time spares none  Neither it has spared me Nor it will spare you You may have to go through The same process  Now I am going through  The same old age Helplessness and compulsion. Not that easy To keep oneself in another's situation And experience his predicament And pangs of sorrow One hardly feels In between youth and old age  How time flies  I could not feel it You may not It seems As if it was yesterday  When I was in my teens  In the  full bloom of youth  When you were in your mother's lap In one fine morning I woke up  To  find myself old and unwanted  In the ashtray  Burning my last wishes into ashes  Like a leftover cigarette  With nothing to look forward  I am looking back  To the glorious days of past  Help me to bear my present  To carry me to a dignified end Take care of yourself Take care of your attitude  Before it is too late Before it becomes the cause of Someone's grief and agony

 SOMETHING I LOOK AT-23 BY-SMRUTI RANJAN MOHANTY Born and brought up in a remote corner  grew and developed far far away from world's fascinating corridor in the lap and scenic beauty of nature Schooling was all fun for money parents were not given to run teachers were so good they hardly saw any difference between the students, they taught and the kids they reared Life was sheer beauty in mother's lap and under father's shadow college life, to begin with, was a bit hard  but transition from rural to urban was not so bad All was well till tragedies, poignant  came one after one i lost ones so near the kids of whom I had to rear like that of my own with love, care and vigour Grew old when I was young do not know youth and its exuberance its beauty and grandeur never lament it even for a minute for what i accomplished is more gratifying than what i lost the beauty of life lies in duty which I did with heart and magnanimity Circumstances made me deeply religious happy as i was

 SOMETHING I LOOK AT-149 BY-SMRUTI RANJAN MOHANTY             FEEL IT Go ahead  Don't look back Your parents are right behind  You may not see them But they are very much with you With your ups and downs  Enjoying and enduring  Your happiness and sorrow as theirs Being part of your journey  They silently feel your moments  Even though they are miles away  Hurdles will come But you will be through  Coz the blessings of your parents Are with you No need to carry them They are where you are They know time has changed They know your constraints and compulsions  They know neither they can be with you Nor  you can be with them They accept the reality as much as you Just ensure that they don't suffer  Take care when they need Carry them when they are unable To carry themselves  Never let them feel They are not part of your family They are not in your thoughts  Feelings and concern  Don't make them foreigners in your family It hurts, it hurts hard Just too much to bear Smruti Ranja
