You have seen the world

So also I

You have travelled a lot

Dined and wined 

So also I 

I matched your steps in every field 

Be it in air, water or on earth 

People recognise us from a distance 

We have nothing to prove 

Our success is our trademark 

I have so much to share 

The same may be with you 

Now there is the much-needed leisure 

We have been looking forward to since long

Let us for a change sit together for a while

Share our feelings 

And look at each other 

The way we used to 

When I was your sweet bride

And you are my handsome bridegroom 

What are you looking at?

My eyes, cheeks, neck and skin 

Yes I have grown old 

So also you

We are struggling to keep us young

By hiding ourselves in heavy makeup 

But our wrinkles tell the real story 

Our mirror says we are not the same

As we were long before

Do you remember 

When I last told you

I love you and you reciprocated 

It must be long since 

We are staying under one roof

But we have not met since years 

Whenever we met, we met in parties

As strangers

Can you recollect 

How our kids smiled and started walking 

For the first time

Their first nursery rhyme 

Progress report and parent teacher's meeting 

Their petty wishes and trifling demands 

How they grew up and developed 

Socialising with faces

Which are not their father's and mother's

You have hardly seen their childhood 

These moments will never come

You have missed them forever 

We never lived

We missed our life

Our life is the story of our success 

Parade of ego  and nothing else

We have lost all those beautiful moments 

Which could have been ours 

I don't want to go outside

No more I am hungry for success

I want you by my side 

Let the 'I' merge in you and 'you'  in me

What remains is we

Our tears and smile 

I have enough tasted that saltless curry 

People call success 

You are my world

And I am your love.

Let us celebrate life

Be with me

I will be with you

Right in front 

For the rest of life

Enjoying every bit of it,

Listening to its symphony

Relishing the moments

And be with its ebb and tide
