THINK ONCE MORE-14

Image
THINK ONCE MORE-14 Life is a complicated mathematic, extremely intricate and deceptive. We spend our entire life on it, making a lot of permutations and combinations, calculating and manipulating the resources at our disposal to gain undue advantages over others. We call it a competition and justify our action in the name of survival of the fittest. In this battle of unequal, innocent people are made scapegoats and their hopes and aspirations are crucified upon a cross of gold. But life defies all calculations and proves all permutation and combination to be awfully inadequate to take care of the intricacies of life. There is a limit to human perception for we do not see what is in store for us. The entire planning may go wrong for the next moment may not be ours. While living a life in the midst of luxury and affluence we should think of others who are barely making their both ends meet for the world is as much theirs as it is ours. Let us realise the stern and naked reality of lif...

REVIEW OF MY POEM SOMETHING I LOOK AT-1

Image
Thanks and gratitude to Prof Cijo Joseph Chennelil, the eminent poet and literary critic for writing a beautiful critical appreciation on my poem 'SOMETHING I LOOK AT-1'.Thank you very much, sir, for your wonderful words. Smruti Ranjaniji, Your poem titled"Something I Look at-1"is a poem that sheds light upon a constructive love which can also be a social networking platform. Here the social networking site caters to the interests of one and all, the young people are glued to it and the old people do have still opportunities but they have a nagging regret within them that when they were in their youthful vigour, it was not there to humour them. This site of ever-present nature has seen fluctuating emotions of variegated nature but it always has remained unmoved by these emotional turmoils and turbulences, it has continued to serve humanity with vitality and strength. This site is a friend who allows everybody to get in touch with each other. It facilitates the es...

REVIEW OF MY POEM A LOOK AT LIFE-55

Thanks and gratitude to eminent poet and literary critic Prof Cijo Joseph Chennelil for writing a beautiful critical appreciation on my poem A LOOK AT LIFE -55. Thank you very much sir for your wonderful words of appreciation. Smrutiranjanji, Your poem titled"A Look at Life-55(I Am in Love)"is a poem that gives thumbs up to that enduring and endeavouring life which never ages at any rate. The two enticing lovers are engaged in their engrossing, enthralling, captivating, riveting, alluring and regenerative love here with no strings attached whatsoever. This love is an evergreen love which never comes to a grinding halt. In fact, it goes on and on without any slackening and hesitancy. The love here that was initiated long back ago is still reverberating and reaching into its crescendo. The enchanting love transforms the individuals concerned here and their surroundings like never before. The physical erosion doesn't matter when the mind is focused upon that steadfast l...

SOMETHING I LOOK AT-18

Image
SOMETHING I LOOK AT-18 BY-SMRUTI RANJAN MOHANTY Life A continuous endeavour in pursuit of peace, Often equated with happiness, Which is not. Happiness is a transitory phenomenon In between two sorrows While peace is a permanent treasure When it descends deserts none To conceive of world peace is a myth When individuals are at war With emotions and instincts Anxieties and ambitions With naked self-interest parading high and high In the guise of virtue. Mentally still in the primitive society, It is a battle of each against all Balance of terror Is something we aim at, Intend to have that scenario Where each state strong enough To inflict unacceptable damage upon the other And ensure that each state lives in perpetual Fear of the other. Fear by its very nature Can never be the basis of world peace. Mental peace of the individuals Inhabiting the world Can be the only basis for sustainable peace. Peace is not a commodity To be purchased at a price Nor it ...

A LOOK AT LiFE-46 BY-SMRUTI RANJAN MOHANTY In that The stone-carved image of yours My whole world. In your temple my holy abode, At your lotus feet my whole life My identity, my possession. My past present and future Is you my maa Comes to mind that day When I was on my way, You dragged me near Looked at me with loving eyes. The infinite became finite And the mother listened to her child, The child went on asking and The mother looking at him with a smile Days went by A feeling deep and intense came I am not alone How can I be? When you are with me. Wherever I go whatever I do I always feel you by my side What to think about me, my life My happiness which is all yours When I look at you I feel you deep inside, My feelings turn into adoration Adoration into love. The more I love you The more I feel alienated From me and my mundane world Lose my identity and Become one with you copyright@smrutiranjan 19.10.2017

A LOOK AT LIFE-57 BY-SMRUTI RANJAN MOHANTY  you don't need to tell me i know who i am a nonentity struggling for an identity in the vast multitude of humanity living in a world where success so difficult to come by i often ask me a question if i succeed, will it make me a man? what to do with success if that will take me away from my small world from the things i love, the people i love to be with what to do with recognition and appreciation if that will make me someone else, alien to myself what to do with all my affluence if my conscience deserts me, my feelings, emotions and gestures never remain mine when nobody with me to share my accomplishment and agony what to do with that glittering world where my own do not have places to live in where my childhood friend can't  hug me men and women of my village cannot identify with me, my riches and success and look at me as if i am not their own someone who has come from another heaven of what use that s...
